About Me

Daniel Bretz of New Baden is a senior at Wesclin High School who has developed a strong passion for mechanics, engineering, and hands-on craftsmanship. From a young age, Daniel’s experience riding four-wheelers and jet skis sparked his interest in understanding how machines operate and led to his passion for working on small engines.

Daniel has also developed a strong interest in woodworking and other skilled trades. Through his involvement in the Wesclin Shop Club, he has gained practical experience in woodworking, metalworking, mechanics, and drafting. These experiences have allowed him to strengthen his technical abilities while developing valuable skills in problem-solving, precision, and creativity.

In addition to the Shop Club, Daniel is an active member of the Wesclin High School robotics team. As part of the team, he designs and 3D-prints components, further developing his skills in engineering, computer-aided design, and fabrication.

One of Daniel’s greatest accomplishments is establishing and growing a successful grass-cutting business going on 4 years. Through this entrepreneurial experience, he has demonstrated initiative, dedication, responsibility, and strong work ethic while developing valuable skills in customer service, time management, and business management.

Following high school, Daniel plans to pursue a career in the United States Air Force. His passion for mechanics and technology, combined with his hands-on experience, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to learning, will provide a strong foundation as he pursues his future career and goals.
